St. Thomas Academy in Mendota Heights began a partnership this month with St. Joseph’s Seminary and High School, an all-boys school in Kenya. The schools will use technology, including Skype videophone, to learn about each other’s cultures, countries and living conditions. St. Thomas students also will teach the Kenyan students how to monitor water quality.

Grand Rapids Schools considers selling old City High building to UPrep group (The Grand Rapids Press)

Grand Rapids Public Schools is considering selling the “City Building” on the Central High School campus to the nonprofit group that runs University Prep Academy, paving the way for $8 million in private donations to renovate and expand the school.

Chicago Pneumatic, WIX Filters and Tomorrow?s Technician have selected the top 20 schools in the third annual School of the Year competition. Entries were received from 266 students and instructors nominating more than 160 high schools, technical schools and colleges.
