But for tailgaters who enjoy the finer things in life, the Woody mobile party trailer is the ultimate in weekend luxury.
Commissioned by Moore and Giles Leather and designed/built by Brad Ford, the beautiful one-of-a-kind creation has everything the upscale party-goer could want. The teardrop trailer has been outfitted in sleek leather, rich wood, oodles of style and a cocktail bar big enough to let you forget you’re partying outdoors.
Inside the trailer you’ll find a poker set just right for challenging your rich friends to some good old fashioned fun, along with a built-in Sony Blu-Ray player and Golden Ear speakers. The pull-out bar features space for storing up to 30 bottles as well as a tap for when only a keg will do. There’s no room to sleep in this camper, but that just gives you more time to throw elegant backyard soirees.
This posh bar on wheels is not merely an exercise in decadence, however. It was built to tour the USA and then be auctioned off for the benefit of DIFFA (Design Industries Foundation Fighting Aids). The combination of the traditionally low-luxury pursuit of camping along with the upscale materials used in this project result in a remarkable piece of traveling craftsmanship that is truly unlike anything else.

Strangely enough, the creative duo behind these hybrid synthetic/organic designs will be the first to tell you: even they are not sure what the piece will look like when the resin solidifies and the finished object is revealed.
Michael Thomas Host and Tanja Hinder of mth woodworking in Vancouver, BC, use sections of trees ranging from 60 to 600 years old to craft new works.
The idea? Chaotic nature moves into contemporary contexts (and can be easily cleaned and eaten off of) but still use 100% all-natural materials.
Usually using the base of trees essentially as is, they decide how best to feature its inherent shape with a minimalist resin addition – rather than first imaging the result, then working to produce it.
The pair also prefers action to talk – in that spirit, well, the beautiful items above can largely speak for themselves.

Modern Log Furniture Fuses Sliced Trunks & Organic Resins
It sounds a bit silly initially … OK, it even appears rather awkward at first glance … but light tells only half the story of a lamp – the other half comes in the forms of shadows it casts.
Miniature dollhouse-scale versions of classic modern furniture from the Vitra Design Museum can be found at their gift shop, but now 80 of these small pieces can also be seen in a set of suspended lanterns re-crafted by Paola Pivi.
Remarkably recognizable in two dimensions, the shapes in the spaces between direct patches of light reflect a century of contemporary furniture design from famous architects and industrial designers.

Frozen in motion, Graft Architects designed this piece with with a beautiful blend of minimalism (a table with no legs or ornament) and, paradoxically, artistic flare (chaotic curves and rich ripples).
Skin becomes structure and void gains mass in an all-in-one piece of composite fiberglass at an astonishing six millimeters thin, surprisingly able to support itself as well as dinnerware on demand.

Invisible Dining Table: Legless Tablecloth Floats Like a Ghost
The rush of the crowd bustling down the street seems a series of particles to those standing and watching in real time. Strip away color and let time lapse, though, and the effect is downright spooky – haunted urban centers, crisp in backdrop but populated with ominous ghouls.
The work of Alexey Titarenko displaces persons, or, conversely, calls attention to their fleeting presence in built environments. His spooky Time Standing Still photo series from the late 1990s is in large part what drew broader public attention to this increasingly famous photographer, followed by Cities of Shadow and other explorations of humanity in the context of urbanism.
Beyond the jarring first-impression effect of his first forays into non-standard photography, however, his techniques (and subjects) have evolved with time. Subsequent shoots have toyed with more timeless questions of composition, light and shadow in increasingly complex ways.
Titarenko graduated with a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Department of Cinematic and Photographic Art from Leningrad’s Institute of Culture in early 1980s, but it would not be before the end of the decade that he could (as a Russian citizen) declare himself an artist and divorce his work from the state propaganda machines. Subsequently, however, his pieces have been hung at dozens of museums and shown at countless exhibitions around the world.

Designer Maxim Vaslyaev used bugs called Pteleobius to create this beautiful Pteleobius Lamp. These bugs eat crust and leave these fanciful ornaments. The designer also used a fluorescent lamp ; he additionally highlighted the unusual pattern made by the bugs. When the lamp is on, the cut I the tube falls on the base and creates a pleasant shade. The materials used are wood, steel and lamp. You can easily change the lamp if needed and the asymmetry allows by one turn get a new view. Modern, cool object, it’s not only a lamp but also an installation that combines high technologies and beauty of nature.
